The fertility service is based at Seacroft Hospital. The maternity service is based at St James University Hospital (approximately 4,500 deliveries per year) and Leeds General Infirmary (approximately 5,000 deliveries per year). What you will bring to the role Essential criteria Eligibility, Fitness to practice, and Language Skills Have completed their post-graduate training at least to a level of an ST3 specialty doctor or equivalent in obstetrics and gynaecology Have valid GMC Registration at the time of application Familiarity with UK health system and NHS Is up to date and fit to practise safely and is aware of own training needs. Applicants must have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as assessed by the GMC Clinical, Academic, and Personal Skills. Ability to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement to problems Ability to prioritise clinical need Ability to maximise safety and minimise risk Recognition of, and ability to undertake the initial management of, an acutely ill patient Demonstrates understanding of research, including awareness of ethical issues Demonstrates understanding of the basic principles of audit, clinical risk management, evidence-based practice, patient safety, and clinical quality improvement initiatives At least 1 year experience working at middle grade (ST3+) in UK Be competent at Lower segment caesarean section and non-rotational operative vaginal delivery. Qualifications MBBS or equivalent medical degree qualification Completion of Foundation competencies or equivalent Basic Adult Life Support training within past 12/12 MRCOG Part 1 Competencies equivalent to ST3 training Experience Be able to provide complete details of their employment history Have evidence that their career progression is consistent with their personal circumstances Have evidence that their present level of achievement and performance is commensurate with the totality of their period of training Shows initiative/drive/enthusiasm (self-starter, motivated, shows curiosity, initiative) Demonstrable interest in, and understanding of, a career in obstetrics and gynaecology as practiced in the UK Please see the attached job description and personal specification for further information about this vacancy.
