Helping service users with:
• Washing, bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Toileting and continence care
• Mobility and transferring safely
• Eating and drinking support
2. Medication Administration
• Giving or supervising medication according to care plans
• Recording medication accurately (MAR charts)
• Monitoring side effects or missed doses
3. Supervising Care Staff
• Guiding junior carers during shifts
• Delegating tasks
• Checking care standards are followed
• Supporting new staff or apprentices
4. Care Planning & Record Keeping
• Updating daily care notes
• Monitoring residents’ health and wellbeing
• Reporting changes to nurses, managers, or families
• Maintaining accurate documentation
5. Safeguarding & Health and Safety
• Protecting vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect
• Following infection control procedures
• Handling emergencies and incident reporting
• Ensuring safe moving and handling practices
6. Communication
• Communicating with residents, families, nurses, GPs, and managers
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Helping residents maintain dignity and independence
7. Shift Leadership
• Lead the home when managers are absent
• Handle emergencies
• Coordinate staff rotas or handovers
• Ensure smooth daily operations
