EYFS Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from June 2026
This EYFS Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to work full time within a nurturing early years setting where strong relationships, clear routines, and play‑based learning are central to daily practice. The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children’s early development across communication, social skills, and learning behaviours, making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a long‑term, ongoing role in early years education.
Duties as EYFS Teaching Assistant:
- Support children’s learning and development across the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Assist in delivering play‑based and structured learning activities
- Support children’s communication, language, and social development
- Work with small groups or individual children as required
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Support daily routines including transitions, snack times, and outdoor learning
- Assist with observation, assessment, and record‑keeping as directed
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with teachers and early years staff
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working within an early years or EYFS setting
- Understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
- Caring, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting young children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults
- Willingness to commit to a full‑time, long‑term temporary and ongoing role
- Understanding of safeguarding and early years best practice
- Passion for supporting children’s early learning and development
