Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

At Scraptoft Valley Primary School we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to become our Send Provision Base Teacher (Internal Alternative Provision). We are a well-established, well-resourced, and continually evolving provision at the heart of our school community. We are looking for a qualified teacher who has successfully completed their ECT induction years and preferably with SEND experience.

Our provision supports predominantly in Reception to Year 2 with significant speech, language and communication needs. Many of our pupils are pre-verbal, have diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and hold Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) while awaiting specialist placements. The classroom accommodates 12 pupils, offering a much smaller learning environment than a typical class of 30. The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced existing staff members building on the strong foundations that have already been set in place.

• Have an interest in SEND, particularly ASD and communication needs
• Be able to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs

• Be able to deal sensitivity with vulnerable pupils and their families
• Have IT skills sufficient to perform the role
• Be organised and efficient
• Be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing situations

• Have a happy and fulfilling workplace
• Have access to Vivup who offer range of mental health resources and services
