You will be joining our dynamic aseptic team at an exciting and challenging time in developing a first-class aseptic service. The aseptic unit is licensed and provides a comprehensive service to the NCA sites including chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme products and parenteral nutrition. It also supports research services through the provision of clinical trials, including Phase 1 and Gene therapy trials.

The unit is currently in the process of implementing BDCato for the provision of parenteral nutrition and will look at installing a compounder shortly after.

Salford Royal Hospital is a national centre for adult metabolic diseases and intestinal failure meaning the aseptic work is specialised thus creating a stimulating and rewarding post for the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities within aseptic services will include:
• Acting as an authorised Pharmacist for the aseptic unit including the day to day running of the service, product release and quality assurance.
• Supervising the other pharmacists working in the aseptic department.
• Managing the initial training and reaccreditation of pharmacists working in the aseptic service.
• Be named as a releasing officer on the MS Licence.
• Work as part of the Quality Assurance team to:

- Manage and maintain several aspects of the quality management system.

- Manage controlled documents including procedures, worksheets and batch production records.

- Participate in departmental audits, taking responsibility for developing and implementing action plans in response to audit findings.

- Investigate deviations, identifying root causes and suggesting corrective and preventative actions to prevent a reoccurrence.

- Participating in departmental meetings including quality meetings and product quality review.

You will have considerable experience within aseptic services and a good understanding of pharmaceutical quality systems.

You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain as a practicing pharmacist and have a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance (or have equivalent documented aseptic experience).
