Milton Keynes NHS Talking Therapies (MKTT) is seeking to recruit two Trainee High Intensity Therapists.

Applicants must be available to commence employment at the beginning of September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to train with the University of Reading and join NHS Talking Therapies MKTT. The successful candidates will deliver High Intensity interventions in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.

You will work with patients who have a range of mild to moderate anxiety and depression, and common mental health problems for which high intensity psychological interventions are demonstrated to be clinically effective.

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced individuals to train in delivering High Intensity interventions within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework. Successful candidates will develop skills in delivering evidence-based CBT interventions, monitoring clinical outcomes, and contributing to the ongoing development of MKTT treatment pathways and service delivery.

This is an academically demanding training role within a fast-paced clinical environment. Applicants should be target-driven, clinically motivated, and able to contribute to maintaining and improving performance against local and national KPI’s.

As a Trainee High Intensity Therapist, you will:
• Undertake training in High Intensity CBT interventions as part of a postgraduate programme
• Deliver evidence-based psychological therapy to adults with common mental health difficulties
• Manage a defined clinical caseload within a stepped care model
• Use routine outcome measures to monitor treatment progress and effectiveness
• Participate in clinical supervision, academic teaching, and reflective practice
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in line with Trust standards
• Contribute to audit, service development, and quality improvement initiatives
