Summary

Protocol Education are recruiting for a Secondary School looking for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Support Worker who can bring calm, consistency, and real understanding to pupils who need it most.

This role is all about connection. You'll be helping pupils manage emotions, build trust, and feel safe enough to learn, often for the first time in a while.



Start date: Monday 1st June

Hours: Monday - Friday 820am - 330pm, term time only

Pay: £14.25 - £15.38 per hour



What we're looking for:

• A calm, patient approach, you're the steady presence in the room

• Confidence managing challenging behaviour and de-escalation

• A genuine interest in mental health and wellbeing

• Backgrounds in youth work, care, psychology, or coaching are ideal



What you'll be doing:

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups

• Helping children regulate emotions and develop coping strategies

• Managing behaviour with a calm, trauma-informed approach

• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

• Supporting routines that create safety and structure

• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
