Crynodeb

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our team at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. Our Cardio-Respiratory Units are friendly, busy, and rapidly expanding diagnostic services.

In addition, we have a cardiac catheterisation laboratory at our King George Hospital (KGH) site, where we offer a wide range of services including diagnostic coronary angiography, pacemaker, ILR, ICD and CRT-D implantation, and transoesophageal echocardiography. we are in the process of finalising our business case to start Coronary Stenting which is expected to start later this year.

Alongside our acute services at Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital, we also operate from community settings, including the Community Diagnostic Centre at Barking Hospital and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch, delivering a wide range of diagnostics closer to patients’ homes.

We are seeking a forward-thinking, enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated team of professionals, committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care and diagnostic excellence.Applicants should be appropriately qualified and working at a highly specialist, senior level. You must be able to perform, interpret, and report echocardiograms with minimal or no supervision, assist with cardiac device implantation, and undertake device follow-up clinics.

To provide a high quality, appropriate and effective Cardio-Respiratory investigation service.

To supervise, guide and support all junior members of staff.

To be responsible for the organisation and delivery of an area of specialist responsibility as allocated by the Lead Cardiac Physiologist.

We provide a comprehensive range of investigations across the Trust, including:
• Resting ECGs
• 24-hour ECG and blood pressure monitoring
• Event recording
• Transthoracic, transoesophageal, and stress echocardiography
• Pacemaker/ICD/CRTD/ILR follow-up
• Lung function testing

We’re an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we’re proud of and our patients are happy with.

They are benefitting from a new electronic patient record (we were the last acute trust in London to introduce one) and our maternity services have been rated good by the Care Quality Commission.

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 346,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care.

We’re proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre, Radiotherapy Centre and Hyper Acute Stroke Unit. We’re also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.

We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The majority of our 8,400 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
