Smelting Operator
Carbon60 is looking to recruit an experienced Smelting Operator to support Thriving Chemical Manufacturing client in Enfield.
ROLE: Smelting Operator
PAY RATE: £20/ Per Hour
CONTRACT TYPE: 6 Months Rolling contract (5 on 4 off)
Day Shift: 05:30 - 18:00
Night Shift: 17:30 - 06:00
Rotating day and night shifts
LOCATION: Enfield
THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in high-temperature environments, following strict health & safety procedures, and operating both manual and computer-controlled equipment.
The role requires experienced and safety-conscious Smelting Operators to join a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment based in Enfield. This role involves operating and monitoring furnace systems, handling molten metal processes, and supporting continuous production activities within a 24/7 operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and monitor smelting furnaces safely and efficiently.
- Use HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems to remotely control furnace operations.
- Handle and transport molten metal safely using FLT equipment.
- Follow strict operational and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Carry out routine checks and support production targets.
- Wear and maintain specialist PPE, including respiratory protective equipment (RPE), where required.
- Work collaboratively within a production team in a demanding manufacturing environment.
- High-temperature working conditions around furnace operations.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience within manufacturing, foundry, smelting, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
- FLT experience advantageous.
- Comfortable working rotating day/night shifts.
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and operational instructions.
- Experience using HMI or process control systems is desirable.
- Strong awareness of workplace health & safety practices.
