Gillespie Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a forward-thinking and evolving organisation as they look to appoint a Quality Management Systems (QMS) Coordinator to join their team in Newcastle.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced QMS professional to support the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a robust governance framework, playing a key role in achieving ISO accreditation and embedding best practice across the business.

The Role

This is a highly important and structured QMS Coordinator position, ideal for someone with experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems who enjoys working in a collaborative, process-driven environment.

Working closely with the Head of Strategy & Governance, you will support the development of a company-wide QMS framework, help secure ISO 9001 accreditation, and ensure it is effectively maintained as part of business-as-usual operations.

This role offers the opportunity to influence processes across the organisation, contribute to continuous improvement, and support compliance across quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management Systems & Compliance

Supporting the development and implementation of a robust QMS framework aligned to ISO standards
Assisting in achieving ISO 9001 accreditation and ensuring ongoing compliance
Maintaining and updating policies, procedures, and standards in line with business needs
Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring follow-up actions are completed

Governance & Reporting

Assisting with company-wide risk management and objectives programmes
Preparing performance dashboards and management reports
Supporting leadership with data, insights, and compliance tracking

Training & Communication

Advising and supporting colleagues on QMS processes and best practices
Providing training on management systems and compliance requirements
Working collaboratively across departments to embed standards

Operational Support

Supporting problem-solving relating to quality, environmental, and health & safety issues
Assisting with non-conformances, incidents, and corrective actions
Liaising with external accreditation bodies and supporting audits/visits

Continuous Improvement

Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and compliance
Supporting the development of procedures, manuals, and documentation
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation
About You

We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused QMS professional who is confident working with structured systems and thrives in a governance-driven environment.

You’ll bring experience of implementing and managing ISO-aligned systems, along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.

Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 3 years’ experience implementing and managing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
Strong understanding of quality, environmental, and health & safety standards
Experience supporting audits and maintaining compliance post-accreditation
Excellent organisational and planning skills
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to analyse information and present clear, actionable insights
Confident using Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
Experience working both independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification
Experience delivering QMS implementation projects
Experience managing and monitoring an established QMS framework
Knowledge of regulations within social housing
Experience in a commercial or project-based environment
