PLEASE REFER TO THE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FURTHER DUTIES OF THE ROLE The Midwife Teaching Fellow is an essential member of a well-established team within undergraduate/ postgraduate Medical Education delivery. The Midwife Teaching Fellow co-ordinates with the team to plan, deliver, assess and evaluate medical school education in both the classroom and clinical environment for students across the five years of the MBBS programme. The post holder will be responsible for developing and organising clinical rotations, delivering evidence based teaching sessions, mentoring medical students and providing pastoral support. Working collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Lecturer and the Medical Teaching Fellows, they will establish and maintain clinical standards while ensuring that the medical curriculum is being delivered successfully at STSFT. They will have core specialist skills in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and will act as both an autonomous practitioner and a source of expertise in these areas with students, colleagues and patients. Actively integrating theory and practice, they will ensure operational delivery of the curriculum within the STSFT medical education faculty, to ensure all teaching areas are fulfilled. The Midwife Teaching Fellow will be expected to demonstrate innovative teaching and lecturing skills across a wide range of educational opportunities, including lectures, tutorials, bedside teaching / teaching in the clinical areas, mock ward and simulation sessions. The role requires the use of advanced technology with video and live streaming options.
