Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: The Shires – Stretton, Rutland, East Midlands, LE15 7GT
Salary: Up to £53,200 DOE
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday–Friday
Contract: Permanent (52 weeks or potential term‑time flexibility)

We recognise the increasing demand for clinical support and the vital role of occupational therapy in improving outcomes for our pupils. You will be part of an on‑site multidisciplinary team working collaboratively with education colleagues to support pupils’ independence and functional skills.

We offer a £2,000 CPD training allowance (post‑probation) to support your professional development.

The Role
You will deliver specialist OT assessment and intervention for pupils who may be neurodivergent, have SEMH needs, or have experienced developmental trauma. Working within OFG’s Occupational Therapy Ways of Working, you will manage your own caseload with support from a clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician. The role includes staff training, consultation, and contributing to a strong safeguarding culture. This position suits a resilient, creative, and enthusiastic practitioner.

Location Context
The Shires School is part of Options Autism, supporting young people aged 11–19 with specialist educational needs.

Essential Criteria

Recognised Occupational Therapy degree

HCPC registration

RCOT membership

Experience delivering OT in a relevant setting (preferred)

Experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and/or those with learning or SEMH needs

Strong understanding of OT theory and functional application

Experience working within multi‑professional teams (preferred)

Ability to work independently and confidently in a school environment

Clear, concise report writing

Interest in sensory integration (SI training desirable but not essential)
