A Vacancy at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.


An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Haematology Inpatient Ward for an experienced and motivated Chemotherapy/SACT trained cancer nurse. The Haematology inpatient ward is part of the Cancer Care Directorate.

This individual will be able to assist the ward sister in leading the multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality care to patients with a variety of cancers and haematological disorders.

The deputy sister/charge nurse post will support the ward sister to lead the existing proactive and highly skilled team, which prides itself on high quality patient focused care.

All applicants must have experience of shift coordination, leadership skills, specialist knowledge and skills in the care and treatment of oncology and Haematology patients. They will need to have current experience of administering chemotherapy/SACT and demonstrate extended scope of practice and skills to support the development of the Ward. The applicant will demonstrate an energy and true enthusiasm for the speciality and service development.

The successful candidate will provide expert knowledge, high quality care and psychological support to patients and their families requiring treatment and will assist the ward sister in the development of the ward acting as resource for education and compliance with national and local initiatives.

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital
