Make a Real Difference, Close to Home
Are you compassionate, patient, and looking for a role where the support you give genuinely changes lives?
At Priority Childcare, part of Orbis Education & Care, we operate five small residential services across the Swansea area, each designed to feel like a real home rather than a large institution.
Because our services are small, our teams can build strong, meaningful relationships with the adults we support. Staff have the time and space to truly understand each person’s needs, routines, and goals, creating a calm, consistent environment where individuals can thrive.
As we transition from children’s to adults’ services by 2027, this is an exciting time to join us. Our homes support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs, helping them build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards greater independence.
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact and be part of a close‑knit, supportive team, this could be the perfect fit.
Your Role as a Support Worker
Every day is different, but your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting adults with their emotional, physical, and social wellbeing
- Building trusting, positive relationships so individuals feel safe and valued
- Encouraging independence and helping develop daily living skills
- Supporting activities at home and in the community
- Working with colleagues to deliver personalised support plans
- Keeping accurate records of progress, activities, and any incidents
- Assisting with everyday household tasks, including cooking and cleaning
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need previous care experience — just the right values and attitude. We’re looking for people who are:
- Caring, patient, and resilient
- Confident communicators with a positive, can‑do approach
- Flexible to work a rota including days, evenings, weekends, and waking nights
- Hold a full UK driving licence (essential due to the needs of the individuals we support)
- Willing to learn — full training is provided
Please note: This role involves regulated activity with adults and requires an Enhanced DBS with barred list check.
What You’ll Get in Return
When you join Priority Childcare, you become part of an organisation that genuinely invests in its people:
- Employee Assistance Programme, Wellbeing Champions & Salary Finance support
- Blue Light Card – discounts at over 15,000 retailers
- Refer a Friend scheme – earn up to £1,000
- Funded QCF qualifications and clear career progression — 97% of our managers are promoted internally
- Health Shield Plan (after probation)
- Enhanced maternity & paternity pay (after 12 months’ service)
- Paid time off for cancer screening (JGHR Pledge signatory)
