Summary of the Pipework Fitter role
Salary: £32,000 - £34,000
Location: Bedfordshire
Type of Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm + travel
Responsibilities of the Pipework Fitter
• Install compressed air pipework systems at customer locations
• Assist with installation, positioning and basic mechanical assembly or air compressors and associated compressed air equipment
• Work under direction of an Installation Engineer to ensure installations comply with required standards and guidelines
• Carry out tasks involving working at height, using appropriate access equipment in line with rules
• Support with loading/unloading pipework and other heavy equipment
• Adhere to strict health and safety procedures
• Complete job records
• Communicate clearly progress and issues
• Travel to customer sites as required, including overnight stays when necessary
Requirements for a successful Pipework Fitter
• Confident in use of standard hand tools
• Comfortable working at height and using equipment as well as comfortable working in industrial and manufacturing environments
• Strong awareness of health and safety in an engineering environment
• Physically capable of carrying out manual handling tasks
• Full UK driving licence
