Summary

Purpose of Post:
To provide a high standard of physical and emotional, social, and
intellectual care for children placed in the nursery
To give support to other personnel within the nursery
To implement the daily routine in the base room.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your care in conjunction with other staff, considering individual needs, stages of development, religious and cultural differences.
2. To keep observations and records on your key children as necessary
under the EYFS.
3. Work with parents of children with additional needs and other agencies to give full integration into the nursery.
4. Support all staff and engage in a good team.
5. Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
6. To be involved in activities outside of working hours, e.g., training, staff meetings, Christmas party etc.
7. To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed including to undertake certain domestic duties within the nursery, e.g., preparation of snacks, meals, cleaning of equipment etc.
8. Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the
mission statement, aims and objectives of the nursery are fulfilled.
9. Recording accidents on the appropriate forms.
10. Be constantly aware of the needs of all the children.
11. Ensure the secure collection of children
12. To respect confidentiality of information received.
13. To develop your role within the team especially as a Key Person.
14. Specific Child Care Tasks:
To ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing
Washing and changing children as required
Providing comfort and warmth to an ill child.
15. To be aware of the reputation of the nursery and to always uphold
standard
