Job Overview
We are seeking a Manager to oversee our before and after school club, based at Parkside Primary School in Goole. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, managing staff hours, ensuring high standards, and maintaining compliance with regulations. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for childcare and team management. The Manager will play a pivotal role in harnessing a positive work environment and providing quality child care within the framework of the clubs policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of staff
Planning, quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
Ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met
Providing support and supervision to play workers and other staff, including volunteers.
Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the club, school and with parents.
Undertaking appropriate and relevant training for yourself and monitoring and maintaining the training of the staff.
Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.
Working within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures, and the Early Years Foundation Stage. Knowledge of OFSTED requirements with regard to safeguarding and welfare.
Management and planning of staff timetable
Experience
Experience of working with 4- to 11-year-olds
Experience of working in a supervisory or management capacity, particularly in the childcare sector
Appropriate qualification/child protection training
Demonstrable leadership skills with experience in team management and staff development
Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage
Ability to use IT based resources to support play and club administration, including social media
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Current 12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate and Food Hygiene Certificate are desirable
This role is ideal for a proactive leader passionate about delivering quality childcare and play experiences while fostering a positive team environment. The successful applicant will bring their expertise, leadership qualities, and dedication to excellence to our organisation.
£14.50 per Hour, up to 17 hours per week. Term time only.
Probation Period. – For an initial six-month trial period with review at 3 and 6 months. A permanent position will be offered subject to satisfactory review.
