Summary
As this is a driving role, it is essential that applicants hold a full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points and a valid C1 entitlement. Applications will also be considered from candidates who do not yet hold a C1 licence. In these cases, support can be provided through funding for C1 training. The cost of this training will be recovered once employment has commenced, spread over a fouryear period. Please note that if you commence employment without a C1 licence, you must obtain this entitlement before the end of your sixmonth probationary period. The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand and this can include Bank Holidays, weekends and nights, preparing our frontline operational vehicles and maintaining our provision on a 24 hour basis. A significant percentage of our Ambulance Vehicle Preparation is completed overnight. However, night and weekend working does attract unsocial payments which could mean pay increasing to approximately £6K per annum depending on shift patterns. Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days (pro-rata) depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays on a pro-rata basis. Please ensure you read and understand the attached job description before completing your application. Completion of the Supporting Information section within your application is essential and please include any relevant experience, knowledge and/or role related qualities to support your application. The successful candidates must be flexible in their approach and convey a personal commitment to demonstrating the YAS values and behaviours. You must be reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and be able to work individually and as part of a small team.
