We have an exciting opportunity to join the busy and forward‑thinking Medical Education Team at York Hospital as aMedical Education Clinical Skills Technician. This is a key role within our education service, supporting the planning, preparation, and delivery of high‑quality teaching and training for doctors at all stages of their careers, as well as the wider multidisciplinary team.

The postholder will play an integral part in ensuring our education and development programmes meet the needs of both current and future clinicians. Working with a wide range of clinical educators and learners, you will support hands‑on teaching using an extensive range of equipment, including high‑fidelity patient simulators, clinical skills training models, and advanced surgical simulators. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the creation of bespoke teaching models that enhance and support our innovative training programmes.

This role offers a rewarding blend of technical expertise, creativity, and collaboration, making a real difference to the quality of medical education and ultimately to patient care.

• Liaise with Course faculty leads (clinicians and educators) to identify requirements for medical education courses and to organise the provision of equipment and materials for the effective delivery of medical and dental training events.
• Manage stock for consumable equipment and order replacement equipment when necessary, showing appropriate regard to budgetary considerations.
• Development and fabrication of medical training models using innovative methods.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding service contracts, repairs and the purchase of clinical skills equipment.
• Network with other hospitals, Medical Education Simulation and Clinical skills teams
• Work alongside Trust Sim Leads on the production of Simulation Scenarios and protocols to improve clinical knowledge within the trust.
• Maintain and repair medical education equipment to ensure that equipment is ready and available for teaching when required.
• Set up and clear away of clinical courses, working with faculty to ensure clinical equipment is available.
• Work alongside the admin team in Medical Education to provide appropriate resource to courses and teaching.
• Provide training for relevant staff in the use of training equipment as required i.e. High fidelity simulators and clinical training models and mannequins

Please note that there may be occasional requirement to work at Scarborough Medical Education Centre to support courses.
