Salary: up to £36,500 per annum, dependent on experience

Hours: Full-time, (40 hours), permanent

We have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Supervisor to join our busy in-house Facilities team. Reporting to the Mechanical and Electrical Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring building systems across Life, tenanted spaces and the wider site remain fully operational, well maintained and able to support critical activities, including research undertaken by our principal tenants, Newcastle University and the NHS. This is a hands-on role, combining technical delivery with day-to-day supervision of the Mechanical and Electrical team, ensuring a proactive, high-quality and customer-focused service across all areas.

You will oversee the operation and maintenance of building systems including BMS, heating, ventilation, plumbing and electrical services, while supervising planned preventative maintenance and reactive works via the CAFM system. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating rotas and on-call cover, overseeing contractors, supporting project delivery and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and Safe Systems of Work. Some planned works and reactive repairs may involve out of hours working.

We are looking for a confident individual with strong mechanical and electrical experience, a recognised Level 3 engineering qualification (or equivalent), and excellent organisational skills. You will have the ability to support and guide team members while maintaining a flexible, hands-on approach to site operations.
