Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking a committed, organised and compassionate individual to join the Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU) at King’s Mill Hospital. This is a key frontline role, ensuring patients, relatives and staff receive a high‑quality, professional and welcoming service at all times.
You will play an essential part in supporting the smooth running of the unit, maintaining accurate patient records, coordinating admissions, and acting as a reliable point of contact for the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide a warm, friendly and professional reception service to patients, relatives and visitors.
• Support all team members to ensure the efficient day‑to‑day running of the ACCU.
• Prepare appropriately for all patient admissions to ensure a smooth and well‑organised stay.
• Maintain patient case notes and associated documentation to a high standard.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with patients, relatives and colleagues, demonstrating confidentiality, integrity and respect at all times.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a vital hospital service, supporting patients and families during some of their most challenging moments. You’ll be part of a dedicated, supportive team committed to delivering exceptional care.

We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.
We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
