Are you a methodical professional with a keen eye for detail? Binn Group, Scotland’s leading independent provider of integrated recycling and waste management solutions, is looking for a Compliance Assistant to join our dedicated SHEQ team.
In this vital role, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of our Management Systems. From managing ISO documentation to overseeing WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) compliance reporting, you will be at the heart of ensuring our operations remain safe, sustainable, and high-quality.
Key Responsibilities
ISO Management & Documentation
Maintain and update documentation for ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
Manage company information packs (Safe Contractor, SSIP certificates) and ensure strict version control.
Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions following audits or incidents.
Compliance & Auditing
Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and track follow-up actions.
Monitor legal and regulatory requirements via compliance registers.
Ensure audit findings and deadlines are met and closed out promptly.
Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Support
Support site inspections, assessments, and SHEQ initiatives.
Assist in incident reporting, trend analysis, and maintaining competency matrices (training, inductions, etc.).
Collect data for management reviews and support continuous improvement projects.
WEEE Reporting & Administration
Manage WEEE compliance data, including driver packs and ICER reporting.
Generate SHEQ dashboards and reports for management review meetings.
Provide high-level administrative support to the SHEQ department.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Attributes:
Detail-Oriented: A methodical approach with a high degree of accuracy.
Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint); experience with waste management systems (e.g., Purgo) is a plus.
Communicator: Strong written, numeric, and verbal communication skills.
Proactive: A self-starter who can manage multiple deadlines and works well both independently and in a team.
Outdoor Friendly: You should enjoy being active and working outdoors as part of site assessments.
Qualifications & Experience:
A Diploma or Certificate in a SHEQ-related field (Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, or Business Management).
Working knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, or 45001).
Previous experience in a compliance or quality support role is preferred.
Internal auditor training is a distinct advantage.
Driving licence and due to site location access to own car is preferable.
