1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year 7 Transition Support - Clitheroe

Are you passionate about supporting young people as they start their secondary school journey? We are working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Clitheroe who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 7 pupil transitioning into school this September.

Location:

Clitheroe, Lancashire (BB7)

Contract:

Full-time, term-time only (starting September)

The Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored 1:1 support to a student joining Year 7, helping them settle into secondary school life.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the pupil during lessons and transitions throughout the school day
- Helping to build confidence, routine, and independence
- Assisting with emotional regulation and social interaction
- Acting as a consistent, supportive presence during the transition from primary to secondary
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff

We would love to hear from candidates who:
- Have experience working with children or young people (school-based or care background)
- Have a calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Are confident supporting children with additional needs (ASD, anxiety, SEMH)
- Are reliable, resilient, and committed to making a difference

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
