Due to maternity leave we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to apply for the position of Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to manage the Multi-speciality Outpatients Department at Queens Hospital Burton. the department hosts a wide range of clinics including ENT, gynaecology and general surgery

You will lead the team, offer expert clinical advice and manage services to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective, and compassionate care. This will be in line with local, trust wide and national policies, procedures, values and behaviours.

You will need to be a flexible manager with a proven track record of leadership skills allowing you to empower and support your team.

experience at working at band 6 is an essential criteria for this post, experience working within an outpatient's setting is desirable. Post Registration qualifications and teaching/presenting experience is advantageous.

You will take overall responsibility and be accountable for all delegated nursing care within the clinical environment and be accountable for patient, public and staff experience.

You may need to travel to meetings at other sites so a car driver with access to a vehicle is essential.

This post would be great opportunity for a band 6 sister who wants to expand their experience as well as an existing band 7 who wants to expand their portfolio.

Internal secondment would be considered, please ensure you have your line managers approval before applying for secondment

Responsible for the day to day management of the multi-speciality Outpatients departments, reporting directly to the Matron.

Managements of clinics including scheduling and clinician allocation and waiting times. Working with external providers and other organisations to ensure room bookings are in place and to escalate of issues to the senior management team.

Takes overall responsibility and is accountable for all delegated nursing care within the clinical environment.

Accountable for patient, public and staff experience.

Constant liaison with the Clinicians and Operational team, working cross site where necessary.
