Are you an experienced nurse with current full UK NMC registration and NHS experience, a newly qualified nurse, a nurse returning to registered practice, who is compassionate about caring for patients?
We want you to work for us. WUTH is on an exciting journey as we aim is to deliver the highest quality of care for every patient and we want talented nurses to join our team.
We are looking to recruit a Registered Nurse to join our established Nursing Team, who is motivated and want to make a difference to patient outcomes and wish to join our welcoming team.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity of work in an acute environment allowing them to develop their skills in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
Ward 11 is a 25 bedded Trauma and Orthopaedic unit providing specialist care for patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries. The service manages a broad range of conditions including upper and lower limb fractures, operative fixations, and spinal fractures, delivering both pre‑ and post‑operative care.
The ward also supports patient flow by receiving step‑down admissions from the Wirral Acute Fractured Femur Unit (WAFFU), caring for patients who remain clinically complex and require ongoing rehabilitation, monitoring, and multidisciplinary input. The patient cohort often presents with reduced mobility, high dependency needs, and multiple co‑morbidities, with an increased risk of falls, pressure damage, infection, and delirium.
As a major teaching hospital we are renowned as a leader in the region for education and training, so you will be fully supported through your nursing career and development.
You should have good communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively as part of the team and deal with complex and sensitive situations in a professional manner. You will be required to demonstrate commitment to excellent patient experience, in line with the Trust Care Values, and in support of our patients.
As a new member of the team you will be given the opportunity to learn new skills, working with all members of the MDT to deliver excellent standards of care. You will have opportunities to learn, develop and progress in a caring and supportive team. A Trust preceptorship programme is available to all newly qualified staff. All staff are encouraged to progress with their personal and professional development with access to formal and informal study days.
All new colleagues can expect to receive a warm and friendly Wirral welcome from the very first time they make contact with us. We are described as “competent and caring staff” by our patients.
