We are recruiting on behalf of a market-leading commercial surfacing contractor based in Solihull. The business designs and installs an extensive range of safety surfacing solutions across the play, sports, and recreation sectors. Their established customer base includes Local Authorities, Town and Parish Councils, Housing Developers, Schools, and Trade Contractors.
About the Role
This is a hybrid, field-based position focused on business-to-business (B2B) solution sales and account management across the West Midlands territory.
No prior surfacing knowledge is required. The employer provides comprehensive initial and ongoing technical training, including accompanied joint field visits, to ensure you completely master the product range, target routes, and solution proposal process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Nurture and expand profitable relationships with an existing customer base to unlock new business.
• Target potential new accounts by promoting construction-related surfacing solutions and installation services to housing developers, educational bodies, and local authorities.
• Investigate and convert new commercial opportunities within your designated area to drive territory growth.
• Liaise with clients to understand project needs, generate accurate technical quotes, and manage orders through to final site handover.
What We Are Looking For (Transferable Skills):
We are highly open to transferable skills. To be considered for this role, you must bring relatable sales experience from at least one of the following areas:
• Property & Housing: Background as an Estate Agent, Senior Negotiator, or New-Build Sales Executive looking to transition into a commercial Mon–Fri B2B sector.
• Construction & Landscaping: Experience selling related construction materials, building products, landscaping, or commercial playground equipment.
• Technical Sales: A proven track record in solution or technical sales roles, with the ability to absorb technical details and explain commercial benefits.
Essential Job Requirements:
• A full, valid UK driving licence is essential due to travel required for site visits and client meetings.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• The ability to commute to or be based near Solihull.
