Key elements of the post include taking the lead on the development of recovery and occupation focused interventions, building and refining a HTT occupational therapy pathway, to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, assessing occupational needs and providing evidence-based short-term, intensive, community based occupational therapy interventions to complex patients experiencing acute mental health.
To supervise junior staff/support staff to deliver community interventions enabling patients to develop and/or maintain independent living skills and work towards individual recovery goals.
To develop links with statutory and voluntary sector community resources and ensure that ongoing occupational needs are addressed as part of a safe effective discharge/transfer process.
The Allied Health Professionals and occupational therapy network within the organisation is supportive, providing opportunities for collaboration and participation in development of practice and services and to build your own knowledge base and experience. The trust also encourages staff to be involved in wider integrated professional workstreams and development opportunities.
We have strong links with local universities and provide regular practice placements for Occupational Therapy students.
