About the School

We pride ourselves on nurturing every child’s development, and we are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a real difference to our students’ progress and wellbeing.
The Role
You will work alongside class teachers and specialist staff to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN). Your work will include:
Supporting learning activities, 1:1 or in small groups
Helping pupils with personal care, mobility, and daily routines
Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans
Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all learners
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Essential Requirements
✅ Moving and Handling Training -Must hold a valid certificate from a practical, hands on training course (online only courses are not accepted)
✅ Enhanced DBS Check Must either:
Already have an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update System, OR
Be fully willing and able to apply for a new Enhanced DBS check
✅ Experience or strong interest in supporting children with SEN
✅ Patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive approach
✅ Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar role
Knowledge of SEN conditions (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language needs)
Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or support work
