Our client, a well-established Further Education College in Stockport, Greater Manchester, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term agency opportunity, ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and adults with additional learning needs to achieve their full potential.

Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term Agency Placement
Pay Rate: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff and wider support teams to provide tailored support for students across a range of college courses. You will play a key role in helping learners overcome barriers to education, build confidence, and engage positively with their studies.
You will be supporting students with a variety of additional needs, including:
- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support both inside and outside the classroom
- Assist with lesson delivery and adapt learning materials where appropriate
- Promote student engagement, independence, and confidence
- Support positive behaviour management strategies in a calm and proactive manner
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and student support teams to ensure learners receive appropriate support
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Previous experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs within education, care, or support settings
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
- Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, are desirable but not essential
- Competitive hourly pay of £13.00 - £15.00, depending on experience
- Full-time hours within a long-term placement
- The opportunity to gain valuable experience within a Further Education setting
- Ongoing support and guidance from a dedicated agency consultant
