Summary
1 x BAND 5 STATIC Physiotherapist – for Acute Medicine
(LRI/LGH)
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Physiotherapist to join our motivated and enthusiastic team working on our Acute Medicine wards at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospitals.
We are seeking applicants who are team players and enjoy the challenge of the acute setting. You will be part of the wider Medicine Therapy Team, including the LRI Respiratory Medicine Physiotherapy team, and the Therapy team working at Preston Lodge.
You will assess and treat patients on the medical wards at LRI and LGH. You will have excellent communication skills and will liaise closely with the multidisciplinary team on the wards as well as the patients, their relatives and carers,
You will gain experience working with a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions including frail older adults, fractures, falls and cognitive impairment. Therefore this post would suit an individual with an interest in the management of older adults with complex needs.
You will join a supportive team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and will receive regular supervision and appraisal to promote personal development. You will be actively encouraged to be involved in service development, audit and research within the team. There is also structured in-service training in place within the team which you will be encouraged to be involved with.
The successful candidate would need to be flexible in their working as the service is provided over 7 days a week. The team are working to provide a collaborative approach to therapy across all systems.
Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
