We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist:

The Speech and Language Team staff form part of an MDT and frequently work in joint clinics with OT, PT and dietetics offering an holistic programme of support to families to ensure all the child’s needs are met in a timely and efficient way.


We’re looking for someone:

• To work with children and young people (aged 0-19) in both our early years clinic and within mainstream schools in the Sittingbourne and Isle of Sheppey area.

• Keen to explore other specialisms including complex needs.
• This is a fixed term, term full time post but we are happy to consider flexible working proposals.

The small print
• Informal visits can be arranged on request.
• We will offer you the choice of two pension schemes; the NHS Pension scheme and the scottish widows group pension scheme.
• MCH is considering merging with Kent Community Health Foundation Trust (KCHFT). If the merger goes ahead, the proposed transfer date is 30thSeptember 2026 and this role will be subject to TUPE transfer to KCHFT.



Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and assessing children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

• Delivering therapy for a range of children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

• Designing, monitoring and evaluating targets and plans for children.

• Delivering parent education through workshops.

• Providing specialist advice and support to parents, teachers and other professionals.

You will be required to travel between the clinic, nurseries and schools and must be able to do so in a timely manner.
