Community and Events Fundraising Assistant – Northern Ireland
Do you have a passion for fundraising? Are you able to network and build positive relationships with supporters and stakeholders? If so, we have a wonderful opportunity to join our fundraising team at Mencap.
The Mencap Community and Events Team is looking for a Community and Events Fundraising Assistant (Northern Ireland) to join us on a full time (37.5 hours per week), fixed‑term basis for 5 months.
This role is based in Northern Ireland, with a base at the Mencap Centre in Belfast. We know flexibility is key to a well‑balanced working life, so alongside time spent at the Centre, you will also work from home/remotely and be out in the community supporting fundraising events across Northern Ireland.
This role is advertised as full time, however we are open to considering part‑time or flexible working arrangements for the right candidate. Please indicate your preferred working pattern as part of your application.
There will also be occasions where you will be involved in events outside of normal working hours, for example attending community events or supporting activity at fundraising and challenge events.
We are ideally looking for someone who is available to start as soon as possible, although notice periods will of course be considered.
Mencap is an equitable, diverse and inclusive organisation, and we particularly welcome and encourage applications from disabled people and those from Black and Asian communities, as they are under‑represented within our workforce.
What will you do as a Community and Events Fundraising Assistant (Northern Ireland)?

- You will work closely with Fundraising Managers to assist with a range of fundraising campaigns, events and activities, with a particular focus on Northern Ireland.
- You will provide day‑to‑day support through stewardship, research, administrative tasks, managing team inboxes, and assisting with campaign recruitment and delivery.
- You will play an active role in supporting key Northern Ireland fundraising events and campaigns, including Mencap’s flagship NI Race Day 2026, as well as other community and events‑based fundraising activity.

You can see full details of the experience and skills required for this role in the attached Job Description.
If you’re passionate about Community and Events Fundraising and would like to make a real difference, apply now.
Applications close on 21st May 2026. However, we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
