To provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with mental health needs, enabling them to live independently and lead fulfilling lives.

About Merstone House

Woodlands supports 8 adults with Mental Health needs to lead fulfilling lives, Our tailored support focuses on developing effective coping techniques that bring tangible improvements to daily life.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Encourage independence while supporting individuals to live meaningful and fulfilling lives
  • Support and promote the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests
  • Assist with healthcare needs, including medication and attending appointments
  • Help build essential life skills such as budgeting, shopping, and managing finances
  • Provide personal care where required
  • Support with daily household tasks, including cooking and cleaning
  • Offer consistent emotional and physical support, guidance, and encouragement

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a support or care role (desirable but not essential)
  • A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting individuals with mental health needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to support with personal care and daily living tasks
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care principles
  • Good organisational skills and ability to follow care plans
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including long days and weekends
