Domestic Abuse Support Worker – Oxford

Temporary Role | Immediate Start | £15,50-£16.00 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting people to rebuild safety, confidence, and independence?

We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join a vital service in Oxford on a temporary basis, starting immediately.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will be supporting individuals who have experienced domestic abuse, helping them to move forward, access support services, and feel safe again.

The Role

You will provide practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse, working in a person-centred and trauma-informed way.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing one-to-one support to individuals affected by domestic abuse
Completing initial assessments and ongoing support plans
Supporting clients with safety planning and risk management
Liaising with housing, police, social care, and specialist agencies
Supporting access to benefits, housing, legal advice, and community services
Offering emotional support and empowerment-focused interventions
Maintaining accurate records and safeguarding documentation
Working in line with confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
Promoting independence, safety, and long-term wellbeing

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgemental
Experienced in support work, social care, housing, or related settings (desirable)
Confident working with vulnerable adults and sensitive situations
Strong in communication, organisation, and record keeping
Able to remain calm and resilient under pressure
Knowledgeable in safeguarding and risk awareness (training can be provided)
Flexible and available to start immediately
