# Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) – Deysbrook Pharmacy
**Hours:** 30–40 hours per week (shift basis)
**Shift Times:** Monday to Friday 8:00 am–6:30 pm, with occasional Saturdays 9:00 am–12:30 pm
**Location:** Deysbrook Pharmacy

**Qualification:** GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician with Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification
Deysbrook Pharmacy is seeking a skilled and motivated Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) to join our friendly and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ACT looking to work within a busy community pharmacy based in a medical centre setting, where patient care and service excellence are at the heart of everything we do.
## Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake final accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions following clinical screening by the pharmacist.
* Ensure all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and in accordance with legal and professional requirements.
* Support the safe and efficient running of the dispensary.
* Assist with dispensing prescriptions during busy periods.
* Identify and resolve dispensing errors and discrepancies in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Support and supervise dispensers, pharmacy assistants, and trainee staff.
* Manage workflow effectively to ensure timely prescription processing.
* Assist with stock control, ordering, stock rotation, and expiry date management.
* Support the preparation and checking of monitored dosage systems (MDS) where applicable.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GPhC standards and pharmacy legislation.
* Handle controlled drugs in accordance with legal and company requirements.
* Liaise with pharmacists, GP surgeries, care homes, and other healthcare professionals.
* Deliver excellent customer service and support patients with queries within the scope of the role.
* Contribute to audits, quality improvement initiatives, and SOP reviews.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and professional dispensary environment.
## Requirements:
* GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician.
* Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification.
* Minimum of three years' experience in a community pharmacy environment.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy dispensary.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Basic IT skills and experience using pharmacy dispensing systems.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
