SEND Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils across multiple schools, helping children with additional needs to access learning, build confidence, and thrive in inclusive classroom environments.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated and accessible learning activities
- Support pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Implement individual support strategies and education plans as directed
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation in line with school policies
- Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and positive learning habits
- Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with teaching staff
- Support classroom routines and contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school or educational setting
- Understanding of inclusive education and SEND support strategies
- Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
- Adaptable across different classrooms, year groups, and needs
- Professional, reliable, and proactive attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
