General Science Teacher (ECT) – Full-time, long-term supply starting September 2026
These long-term supply opportunities are ideal for Early Career Teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience while benefiting from consistency and support. You will be working across secondary school settings in Felixstowe and the surrounding areas, delivering high-quality General Science teaching while developing your classroom practice in a stable, long-term role. This position is well-suited to ECTs who want to build confidence teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Duties as General Science Teacher (ECT):
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Teach Science across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum
- Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain high expectations
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress where required
- Work collaboratively with department colleagues, mentors, and support staff
- Contribute positively to wider school life during the long-term placement
Ideal General Science Teacher (ECT):
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify as an ECT by September 2026
- Early Career Teacher seeking long-term supply experience in Science
- Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
- Confident, reflective, and eager to develop classroom practice
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Adaptable across different school environments
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
