We are working in partnership with a specialist mainstream enhanced (SEMH) provision in Derby. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social, Emotional and Mental Health Practitioner to join a specialist mainstream enhanced (SEMH) provision in Derby. This role focuses on supporting learners with mental health needs and special educational needs (SEN), helping them to access education within a supportive and inclusive environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support young people who require a highly personalised and therapeutic approach to education. The school focuses on building positive relationships, promoting emotional regulation, and delivering tailored learning plans to help every pupil achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Support the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons alongside the class teacher
- Implement behaviour strategies and support a structured environment with high expectations
- Help pupils regulate emotions, develop social skills, and engage positively in learning
- Support personalised learning pathways and access to appropriate accreditation
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment


What We're Looking For
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs (school, AP, PRU, or similar)
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to adapt to challenging situations and remain consistent
- A proactive team player who can work collaboratively with staff and support services
