The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated NHS Futures Pre-Employment Programme Lead to support the design and delivery of high‑quality pre‑employment and employability programmes aligned to Trust workforce priorities.
Working as part of the NHS Futures Team within Corporate Learning Services, the post holder will play a key role in supporting individuals from diverse and under‑represented backgrounds to prepare for, progress into and sustain employment within the NHS. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about employability, education and widening access to NHS careers.
· Support the coordination and delivery of pre‑employment, employability and work experience programmes aligned to Trust workforce priorities
· Lead and support recruitment to employment programmes, including outreach, promotion, application management, shortlisting, interviewing and assessment activity
· Provide pastoral support, guidance and mentoring to programme participants throughout their journey
· Design and deliver engaging employability activities including information sessions, inductions, tasters and workshops
· Liaise with internal teams, managers and external partners to facilitate placements and progression opportunities
· Maintain accurate records, monitor attendance and outcomes, and support programme evaluation
· Promote NHS employment opportunities and act as a professional point of contact for programme enquiries

Training
· Support the coordination and delivery of pre‑employment, employability and work experience programmes aligned to workforce priorities
· Organise and support programme activity including information and taster sessions, employability workshops, placements and learning activities
· Contribute to the development of high‑quality programme materials and resources
· To design and deliver information sessions to promote the Trusts Employment Programmes.
· To review existing sessions to ensure they are kept up to date with changes in practice.
· To prepare for work experience activities/sessions. This includes the moderate physical movement or rearrangement of furniture and training equipment both within the training room and external venues.
To deliver employment programme inductions ensuring all participant are aware of their roles, responsibility and polices during the programme.
Communication
· To provide an efficient and professional point of contact for the NHS Futures Team on the telephone, via email, or face to face; responding to employment enquiries and taking appropriate action.
· To maintain links with external stakeholders providing them with details of employment programme opportunities available within the Trust and negotiating potential income opportunities with them.
· To liaise with employment programme participants, and other partner organisations to ensure they have all the information required regarding the programme.
· To liaise with Widening Participation partners in other Trusts to share good practice and develop the delivery of work experience.
· To develop promotional and marketing materials to support all employment programmes.
Pre Employment & Employability Programme Support
· Support candidate recruitment activity including shortlisting, interviewing and assessment
· Act as a point of contact for participants, providing pastoral support, guidance, mentoring and practical advice
· Support participant engagement, attendance and completion, responding appropriately to barriers
· Develop and use databases and spreadsheets to record data, undertake audits and produce complex reports using this information in line with GDPR and Trust Policies
· To keep up to date on all matters relating to Apprenticeships and Career Pathways within the NHS to impart accurate information.
· To review and update all employment programme documentation on a regular basis.
· To support the NHS Futures Manager in identifying individual projects to provide income or development of the portfolio for the NHS Futures Zone.
Data Analysis
· To undertake evaluations employment programmes by developing mechanisms for obtaining feedback from key stakeholders, analysing the results and producing reports detailing recommendations for improvements.
· To produce summary reports of employment programmes
