My mum has dementia and she also suffers with depression so her mood fluctuates and she is often very confused. She can become very withdrawn which requires patience and someone who has a good set of social skills. The PA will need to pick my mum up from the care home where she lives, help her to get dressed to go out, and may have to help with her personal care (toileting) while out as she is incontinent. She does not use any walking aids for mobility but requires an arm to link/hold onto as her balance is poor at times. A driver/car owner with business insurance is essential and a DBS check is also required and the cost of this will be covered. The PA will be expected to take my mum out to local cafes, to shopping centres, for walks, to the beach and local museums.
