Summary
Mosaic 1898 Direct Payments Support Service are assisting a woman to recruit an experienced mental health support worker.
The position is for 3 hours per week to be worked Monday and Wednesday evenings 7.00-8.00pm and Friday mornings 10.00-11.00am.
A caring, empathetic, patient support worker, ideally with mental health training and/or support experience, who has the ability to develop a rapport. To make regular contact so the woman has the opportunity to air any concerns she may have, for her to discuss any intrusive thoughts, and support her to weigh up and not act upon impulsive behaviours that could possibly place her at risk. Further to this, to support and encourage attendance at health appointments and to verbally encourage her to regularly self-catheterise.
You will be reliable and trustworthy with the commitment to accept responsibility. You will be comfortable to work on your own and with initiative if necessary. You will always be diligent and conscientious.
Communication skills: You must be able to communicate effectively.
Flexibility: health needs can change, and routines may need to alter, therefore, you will need to be flexible regarding shift patterns.
Organisation and Time Keeping: Time management is essential as routine is very important. The PA would be expected to arrive to work on time and if there is a delay, the individual is to be notified as soon as possible.
