These Teaching Assistant roles offer the opportunity to work full time within a supportive primary school setting, providing general classroom cover across mixed year groups. The Teaching Assistants will play a key role in supporting learning, behaviour, and engagement throughout the school day, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking long‑term, ongoing roles with variety and continuity.
Duties as Teaching Assistant:
- Provide general classroom support across mixed year groups
- Support pupils’ learning on a one‑to‑one or small group basis
- Assist with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum activities
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Help maintain positive behaviour and consistent classroom routines
- Prepare and organise learning resources and classroom materials
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
- Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and engagement
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in a school setting
- Confidence supporting pupils across different year groups
- Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to general classroom cover
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, supportive, and positive attitude towards pupil development
- Willingness to commit to a full‑time, long‑term temporary and ongoing role
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
