Are you passionate about supporting children who need additional emotional, social, and behavioural support to succeed in education?

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Longsight from September. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively with learning and develop essential life skills.
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children who may display challenging behaviours.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and interventions.
- Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
- SEMH or SEND settings.
- Primary education.
- Youth work.
- Residential care.
- Mental health support services.
- Support worker or key worker roles.
- Behaviour mentoring.

Team Teach training is desirable, but not essential. Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided for the right candidate.
- Be patient, empathetic, and resilient.
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Be confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
- Be committed to supporting vulnerable children to achieve their potential.
- Have a genuine interest in working within alternative provision.
