Early Years Jobs Wakefield | Castleford & Pontefract | £13.50ph
Wakefield Practitioners: Professional respect meets premium pay.
Are you the kind of person who can make "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" sound like a Hollywood blockbuster? We are recruiting across the 5 Towns for practitioners who love the community feel of local nurseries and want a career that actually fits around their life.
The Impact of the Role:
You will be the reliable support that Wakefield’s busiest nurseries rely on. Whether you’re in a high-energy city setting or a village preschool in Horbury, you will implement the EYFS through hands-on play. Your day involves everything from phonics and messy play to supporting mealtime routines and ensuring a high standard of care. You are the professional that permanent teams rely on to keep the "storytime" magic alive.
Why Work For Us?
Community Focused: We value our staff as professionals, providing the highest agency rates in Wakefield.
No Unpaid Admin: Show up, support the children, and leave the paperwork to the permanent team.
Work/Life Balance: Total control over your diary. Great for parents or students!
The Qualification Bar:
Qualified Tiers: Must hold a Level 2 or 3 in Childcare/Early Years. Early Years is a specialist field; Health & Social Care or TA qualifications are not accepted for qualified rates.
Unqualified Tier: Staff with significant nursery experience but other qualifications are encouraged to apply as Unqualified Assistants.
The 2025 Standard: A Full PFA certificate is mandatory for ratio compliance. If you haven't sat the course, you must be willing to complete this immediately.
