Are you a passionate Chef who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in delivering high-quality food? We’re looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our vibrant catering team at the University of Greater Manchester.
As a Chef, you’ll play a key role in delivering excellent food and service across a variety of catering outlets on campus. From preparing fresh meals at scale to supporting events, no two days will be the same.
You’ll be part of a supportive team that is committed to high standards, continuous improvement, and creating a great experience for every customer.
You will get involved with;
Preparing and cooking high-quality meals to a consistently high standard
Working with both batch and bulk cooking to meet demand and budgets
Supporting daily kitchen operations, ensuring food hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times
Assisting with stock control, deliveries, and kitchen organisation
Working collaboratively across teams to deliver excellent customer service
Supporting the Catering Manager and stepping up when required
We are looking for;
At least 2 years’ experience in a professional catering environment (non–fast food)
NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking (or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality food
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends for events such as Graduation.
If you’re enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to bring your culinary skills to a busy and rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you.
To apply please send in a covering letter and your CV.
