A welcoming primary school in Manchester City Centre is looking to appoint a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and is considering a future career in education, psychology, speech and language therapy or child development.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting children with additional learning, communication and emotional needs
- Helping pupils engage with classroom activities and learning
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering an inclusive learning environment
- Encouraging pupil confidence, independence and social development
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
The Ideal Candidate:
- Graduate degree (any subject considered)
- Passion for supporting children with SEN
- Patient, caring and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
