This Secondary Teacher role offers a full-time maternity cover opportunity starting in September 2026. The Secondary Teacher will deliver high-quality teaching across the secondary age range, supporting pupils’ academic progress and personal development within a well-structured and supportive school environment. This role is ideal for a dedicated Secondary Teacher seeking a stable, fixed-term position with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Duties as Secondary Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the secondary curriculum
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Support pupils’ academic progress and engagement with learning
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
- Use assessment and feedback to inform teaching and support progress
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
- Work collaboratively with departmental and wider staff teams
- Contribute to curriculum planning and shared resources
- Support pupils’ social and personal development
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Secondary Teacher:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching at secondary level
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching
- Ability to engage and motivate pupils of varying abilities
- Organised, reliable, and reflective teaching approach
- Willingness to commit to a full-time maternity cover role
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
