Summary
Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of children?
At De Aston School, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, feel valued, and succeed—no matter their background or challenges. We are seeking a passionate and driven Inclusion and Engagement Manager to play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of students who need it most.
In this highly rewarding role, you will lead our Inclusion and Behaviour Support Centre, supporting students who may be at risk of disengagement. You will work at the heart of our pastoral team, helping young people overcome barriers, re-engage with learning, and build brighter futures.
If you are someone who thrives on making a genuine, lasting impact and believes in the power of inclusion, this is your opportunity to be part of a supportive, forward-thinking school community.
Duties
As Inclusion and Engagement Manager, you will:
Lead and manage the Inclusion and Behaviour Support Centre, ensuring a calm, structured and supportive environment for all students.
Work closely with students at risk of exclusion or disengagement, delivering tailored interventions to support behaviour, wellbeing and learning.
Support and guide students in managing behaviour, helping them successfully reintegrate into mainstream lessons.
Model positive behaviour strategies and support colleagues across the school in effective behaviour management.
Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure holistic support for every child.
Lead on behaviour systems including the detention process, maintaining high standards of conduct and accountability.
Analyse behaviour and engagement data, producing reports and identifying trends to drive improvement.
De-escalate challenging situations with professionalism, empathy and resilience.
Skills
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about inclusion and student wellbeing, with a genuine desire to improve young people’s life chances.
Resilient and calm under pressure, able to manage challenging behaviour with confidence and empathy.
A strong leader and team player, capable of inspiring both students and colleagues.
An excellent communicator, able to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and external partners.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records and data.
Experienced in working with young people, particularly those with behavioural or SEMH needs (desirable).
Educated to at least GCSE (Grade 4/C) in English and Maths, with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
Role details:
Hours: 37 per week (Mon–Thurs 8:15am–4:15pm, Fri 8:15am-3:45pm)
