Summary
Personal Assistant / Carer
Support for Young Adult with Complex Needs
Location: Equal distance between Grantham and Bourne
Role: Part-time / Full-time positions available
Driving licence: Essential (must be confident driving a wheel chair adapted vehicle)
Rate of Pay: Up to £20.00 per hour dependent on qualification and experience
About the Role
A small team of dedicated personal assistants is required to support a young man, H, who has lissencephaly and epilepsy. H is a happy, contented individual with no behavioral challenges. He is a wheelchair user and requires support with all aspects of daily living.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and committed to providing high quality, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide full support with daily living, including personal care, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
Use hoisting equipment safely (training provided if required).
Administer medication in line with care plans and protocols.
Support H during seizures and follow established epilepsy management procedures.
Drive H in his wheel chair adapted vehicle to social activities, appointments, and community outings.
Assist with household tasks related to Hs care.
Work collaboratively as part of a small, consistent care team.
Essential Requirements
Clean, full UK driving licence.
Willingness to support all aspects of personal care.
Comfortable driving a wheel chair adapted vehicle.
Good communication skills and a calm, patient manner.
Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to supporting Hs wellbeing.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience in a care or support role.
Experience with hoisting and moving and handling equipment.
Experience administering medication.
Experience supporting individuals with epilepsy.
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or similar formal qualification).
