Duties as English Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons using pre-planned materials
- Teach English across Key Stage 3 and, where required, Key Stage 4
- Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment
- Follow school behaviour policies, routines, and safeguarding procedures
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
- Encourage pupil engagement, participation, and progress in English
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure continuity of learning
- Provide clear feedback and handover notes for permanent staff
- Represent Class Act professionally while working as an English Teacher
Ideal English Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering English lessons
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- A flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to supply teaching
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
